On the Waikaremoana Discovery Tour we don’t cover the full Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk track, just the highlights section from Onepoto to Panekire Bluff on Day 2. You’ll still get all those big views from the top of Panekire Bluff, with a lot less work and far more comfortable accommodation!
There are a large number of trails in the Te Urewera area that aren’t part of the Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk and this is a brilliant opportunity to sample some of those lesser-visited tracks and enjoy a more peaceful, tranquil experience where everyone gets a chance to interact authentically with a unique natural area of New Zealand.
