On the Waikaremoana Discovery Tour there’s no formal luggage limit. Most walkers bring two pieces of luggage – a suitcase and a daypack. When we pick you up, we’ll stow your gear in our luggage trailers, or the back of our vehicles, and it’ll be waiting for you at the end of the day when we get to the lodge. We stay at the same location for 3 nights, so once we get there you can unpack and settle in properly. There’s no need to repack every morning and move to a new location, you’ll be in the same room every night.
While we’re out walking during the day you’ll only need a day pack with that day’s essentials. The rest of your belongings can safely stay locked in your chalet.
If you’re on an extended visit to New Zealand and you have a lot of luggage, it’s best to seek accommodation in Rotorua that would be happy to store your extra luggage while you’re on the tour with us.
Please make sure you double check the details of your travel insurance policy as some policies won’t cover your valuables while they’re in our tour vehicles. It’s always best to leave valuables at home.
